As a comic creator, social media is by far the best way to promote your title. There are a ton of great platforms out there, but here are some basics.
Ask your friends to support you. Post a link to your main title page. Give everybody an update when a new issue comes out. Share the adventure and gratitude. Don't be afraid to post some free content and previews to spark interest.
This is a great place to attract people who support comics--especially other artists. Don't just post finished art, but works-in-progress as well. Talk about your approach and techniques in the description. Don't forget to use the right hashtags!
Twitter can be really hit or miss for comic creators. This will require you to tweet at a greater frequency than other social media platforms. Think of it like micro-blogging. And just like Instagram, don't forget your hashtags.
Consistency is Most Important
It is better to be consistent with one social media platform, and do it well, then to be sporadic on multiple channels. Another important thing to remember is be social. It is called "social" media for a reason. Always respond when someone makes a comment. Thank them for sharing. Be authentic and real. You'll build up fans in no time!
